FAQ

Questions

Is there a data center near this house?

Open any listing and LotLine maps every tracked data center, power plant and crypto mine within 2, 10 and 25 miles, both running and planned, with each project's status and source. It's free on every listing.

Do data centers raise electric bills or lower home values?

It depends on the place, so LotLine shows the local facts: what's running and coming nearby, who sets power rates for the home, and what published research found near similar projects. These are estimates with sources, not a prediction for one home.

How much will this house really cost each month?

The Real Price adds up the mortgage payment, property taxes, insurance, HOA dues, the power bill and a repair budget, plus estimated closing costs, so you see the all-in monthly number and the cash you need at closing.

Is there pollution or a Superfund site near this house?

LotLine's environment check scores the area 0 to 10 from Superfund sites, toxic air releases, fossil plants, large data centers and outdoor air quality, using EPA and EIA records, plus a separate safety check.

Are investors buying homes in this area?

LotLine shows the share of recent home loans in the area that went to investors, how many people are moving in, and how many new homes are being permitted, from HMDA and Census data.

What's planned near this land?

For land buyers, LotLine lists projects coming within 25 miles: proposed and permitted data centers, power plants utilities have filed to build, and new home construction, so you know what could go up next door.

Is it free?

Yes. The map, nearby projects, the scores and the real price are free on every listing. Pro adds the full breakdowns and the one-page report, and every Pro feature is free for everyone until Dec. 1.

Does it work on Zillow, Redfin, Realtor.com and Homes.com?

Yes. Add it to Google Chrome on a computer (Mac or Windows) and it opens beside listings on all four sites, for homes in the 50 states and D.C.

Where does the data come from?

Public records: the Census Bureau, EPA, FEMA, EIA, NOAA, HMDA home-loan data, FHFA and more, plus LotLine's own project tracking. Each number shows its source and date.

Is this advice?

No. LotLine summarizes public records into estimates. It isn't an appraisal, an inspection, or legal, tax or financial advice. Check anything important with the original source or a professional.

What do you do with my data?

LotLine runs in your browser. It doesn't sell your data or track you across sites. See the Privacy Policy.
