Terms of Use
Version 2026-11-02.1 · Effective November 2, 2026
READ THIS FIRST. THE KEY TERMS IN PLAIN WORDS. This summary is part of the Terms; the full sections below control.
- ESTIMATES, NOT FACTS OR ADVICE. LotLine shows public records, research and estimates. It is not an appraisal, inspection, flood determination, or legal, tax, financial, investment or lending advice (sections 1 and 2).
- YOU DON'T RELY ON LOTLINE. You agree to check anything important with a licensed professional and the original records, and not to use LotLine as the basis for any purchase, sale, loan, investment or tax decision (sections 3 and 4).
- NO WARRANTIES. The Service is provided "as is." Information may be wrong, missing or out of date (section 8).
- LIMITED LIABILITY. LotLine is not liable for lost property value, lost profits or decisions you make, and its total liability is capped at $50 or what you paid in the last 12 months (section 9).
- YOU COVER MISUSE. If you misuse LotLine or break these Terms and someone makes a claim, you cover it (section 10).
- DISPUTES. Mississippi law applies, but you keep any rights your own state's consumer laws don't let anyone take away. Contact us first (section 11).
- ADULTS ONLY, NO DISCRIMINATION. You must be 18 or older, and you may not use LotLine to discriminate in housing (section 3).
These Terms are an agreement between you and Valette Labs LLC, a Mississippi limited liability company that makes and operates LotLine ("LotLine," "we," "us"). They cover the LotLine browser extension, website and any related service (the "Service"). By checking "I agree" or using the Service, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. What LotLine is, and what it is not
LotLine gathers public records and published research and shows them next to real estate listings: nearby projects, cost estimates, taxes, market data and local election results. It is general information to help you ask better questions.
LotLine is not:
- an appraisal, home inspection, survey, title search or flood determination;
- legal, tax, accounting, financial, investment, insurance or lending advice;
- a real estate broker or agent, mortgage lender or loan originator.
Always check anything important with a licensed professional you choose (agent, lender, inspector, appraiser, attorney, CPA or insurance agent), and with the original records.
2. Estimates and accuracy
- Many numbers in LotLine are estimates or models, including:
- monthly costs, closing costs, taxes and home-value effects;
- rents, investment comparisons, drive times;
- estimates "based on similar projects."
- Estimates are labeled where shown, and they can be wrong.
- Public data can be incomplete, out of date or wrong at the source. Crowd-mapped data (for example, from OpenStreetMap) is not complete.
- LotLine shows its sources so you can check them. WE DO NOT GUARANTEE THAT ANY INFORMATION IS ACCURATE, COMPLETE OR CURRENT.
- Statements about projects, companies, officials or places are summaries of the cited public records and research, or estimates based on them. They are not LotLine's own statements of fact, and they are not opinions about whether any person, company, home or area is good or bad.
- Report errors with the in-app "Report error" link. We aim to review credible reports within 7 days.
3. Your responsibilities
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Use LotLine for lawful, personal purposes. Don't use it to discriminate in housing or to violate fair-housing laws.
- Don't copy, scrape, resell or redistribute LotLine's data, text or design. You may share a report you made in LotLine (for example, the one-page report) with a client, family member or partner for their own use, as long as it stays unchanged, with its sources and notices. Don't reverse-engineer it beyond what the law allows. Don't interfere with it or use it to harm others.
- You are responsible for complying with the terms of any website you visit while using LotLine.
4. No reliance, and no professional relationship
- YOU AGREE THAT YOU WILL NOT RELY ON LOTLINE AS THE BASIS FOR ANY PURCHASE, SALE, OFFER, LOAN, LEASE, INVESTMENT, INSURANCE, TAX OR LEGAL DECISION. You make your own decisions, and you are responsible for verifying any information with the original records and a licensed professional before you act on it.
- Using LotLine does not create any agent, broker, advisor, fiduciary, attorney-client or other professional relationship between you and LotLine.
- You use LotLine at your own risk. You understand that real estate decisions involve risks that LotLine does not and cannot measure, including the condition, title, zoning, flood risk and future value of a property.
5. Third-party sites and data
- LotLine is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Zillow, Realtor.com, Redfin, Homes.com, any listing service, government agency or company named in the Service.
- Third-party names and data belong to their owners and are used for identification and with attribution.
- Links to other sites are provided for convenience. We aren't responsible for their content or practices.
- Listing sites can change their pages at any time, which can stop LotLine from reading a listing. LotLine may not work on every site or every listing.
6. Submissions
If you send us an error report, tip or feedback, you give us a free, worldwide, perpetual license to use it to improve the Service. Don't send anything confidential, unlawful or that you don't have the right to share, and don't send personal information about other people.
Website forms and early access. If you join the founding list or ask about team plans on lotlinemap.com, you agree that we may contact you about LotLine at the email or phone number you give. Early access, founding-member offers and team quotes are offers we can change or end, and they aren't a promise of any price or feature until you buy. The website counts visits without cookies, as described in the Privacy Policy (section 5a).
7. Paid features
LotLine may offer paid features ("Pro"). Features marked as Pro previews may change or be removed. Before you buy:
- LotLine will show the price, how often you'll be charged, that it renews automatically until you cancel, and how to cancel, next to the button you press to buy.
- You'll have to agree to the automatic renewal separately (for example, a checkbox), and you'll get a confirmation by email with these terms and how to cancel.
- You can cancel online, the same way you signed up, with no call or chat required. For yearly plans, we'll remind you before renewal.
- Free trials will say when they end and what you'll be charged.
- Ways to buy: a monthly or yearly subscription that renews until you cancel, a 3-month pass that does not renew (Pro for 3 months from the day you pay), or a one-time report (the one-page report for one address, the first one you make it for). Prices are shown before you buy and may change; a price change never applies to a period you've already paid for, and you'll be told before a renewal at a new price.
- Payments are processed by Stripe through ExtensionPay. LotLine never sees or stores your card number.
- Cancelling stops future charges, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Payments are not refundable except where the law requires.
- Promotion codes (for example, a free pass for taking part in an interview) can't be exchanged for cash and may expire.
These follow the California Automatic Renewal Law and similar state laws, which are the strictest in the U.S.
8. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE AND ALL INFORMATION IN IT ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT, TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR WORK ON ANY PARTICULAR WEBSITE.
9. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW:
- LOTLINE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST SAVINGS, LOST PROPERTY VALUE, OVERPAYMENT FOR A PROPERTY, OR DECISIONS YOU MAKE, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE WERE TOLD THEY WERE POSSIBLE.
- OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF $50 OR THE AMOUNT YOU PAID LOTLINE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM.
- These limits apply to every kind of claim (contract, negligence, misrepresentation or otherwise) and are a basic part of the bargain: LotLine is free, or low-cost, because of them.
Your state's rights still apply. Nothing in these Terms limits any right you have under a law that can't be waived by contract, including state consumer-protection laws. Some states don't allow excluding implied warranties or limiting incidental or consequential damages, so those parts of sections 8 and 9 may not apply to you.
If you live in New Jersey: sections 8, 9 and 10 do not limit or waive any right or remedy that New Jersey law gives you, including under the New Jersey Consumer Fraud Act, the Punitive Damages Act and the Products Liability Act, and they apply to you only as far as New Jersey law permits. [Attorney to confirm wording under the Truth-in-Consumer Contract, Warranty and Notice Act.]
10. Indemnity
You agree to defend and hold harmless LotLine from claims, losses and costs (including reasonable attorneys' fees) that arise from your misuse of the Service or your violation of these Terms or the law.
11. Disputes
- These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Mississippi and applicable U.S. federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. This choice of law doesn't take away protections of the consumer laws of the state where you live that can't be waived by contract.
- [Attorney to choose one of the following:]
- Option A: courts located in Oktibbeha County, Mississippi.
- Option B: binding individual arbitration under the AAA Consumer Rules, with a small-claims-court option and a class-action waiver. YOU GIVE UP THE RIGHT TO A JURY TRIAL AND TO JOIN A CLASS ACTION.
- Either way, contact us first and give us 30 days to fix the problem. Most problems can be fixed by correcting a record.
12. Changes and termination
- Changes to these Terms: we may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll ask you to agree again in the app. Continued use after that means you accept the change.
- Changes to the Service: we may change, suspend or stop any part of the Service.
- Termination: you can stop using it any time by removing the extension.
13. Other terms
- Whole agreement: these Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and LotLine about the Service.
- Severability: if part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest stays in effect.
- No waiver: our not enforcing a term isn't a waiver.
- Record of agreement: the app saves the version of these Terms you agreed to and the date, on your device.
- Electronic notices: you agree that we can give you notices about these Terms in the app or by email, and that agreeing by checkbox is the same as signing (U.S. E-SIGN Act).
- Where LotLine is offered: LotLine is offered in the United States, and its data covers U.S. homes only.
- California users: under California Civil Code § 1789.3, you may contact the Complaint Assistance Unit of the Division of Consumer Services of the California Department of Consumer Affairs in writing at 1625 North Market Blvd., Suite N 112, Sacramento, CA 95834, or by phone at (800) 952-5210. The Service is free unless you buy Pro.
