Privacy Policy
Version 2026-11-02.1 · Effective November 2, 2026
LotLine is made and operated by Valette Labs LLC, a Mississippi limited liability company ("LotLine," "we," "us").
THE SHORT VERSION.
- NO ADS, NO TRACKING, NO SELLING. The free version needs no account, and LotLine has no server that stores anything about you. It does not sell or share personal information, including sensitive personal information.
- IF YOU BUY PRO, Stripe and ExtensionPay handle the payment. LotLine receives only your email and whether you've paid, never your card number (section 3a).
- WHAT YOU TYPE STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE. Pay, debts, saved homes and settings are kept in your own browser.
- ONLY A LOCATION, AND A RANDOM INSTALL KEY, LEAVE YOUR BROWSER. To look things up, LotLine sends a home's address or map point to a few free public services named in section 3. To check whether you have Pro, it sends a random install key to ExtensionPay. Nothing else.
- OUTSIDE SERVICES HAVE THEIR OWN POLICIES. LotLine doesn't control them and isn't responsible for how they handle a request (section 3).
- THIS WEBSITE COUNTS VISITS, WITHOUT COOKIES. lotlinemap.com uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. No cookies, no ads, no tracking across sites. If you fill in a form here, we get what you type (section 5a).
- FOR ADULTS (18+). Not directed to children (section 7).
1. What LotLine reads on a listing page
- What it reads: when you open a home on a supported listing site, LotLine reads the facts the page already publishes:
- address, map point, list price, size, beds, baths and year built;
- HOA dues and tax rate, when shown.
- What it doesn't read: photos, descriptions, your account on that site, your browsing history or other tabs.
- How long it keeps them: these facts are kept in your browser's session storage for that tab and cleared when you close Chrome.
2. What you type in LotLine
Your choices and inputs stay on your device, in Chrome's local storage. LotLine doesn't send them anywhere, except as described in section 3. They include:
- buyer type (Family, First home, Investor), theme and motion settings;
- saved homes, "My Line" settings, places (work, school);
- calculator inputs: pay, job, debts, filing status, down payment, points;
- the version and date of the Terms and Privacy Policy you accepted;
- counts of "See Pro" taps.
Pay, debts and filing status are financial information. They never leave your device.
3. What LotLine sends to outside services
To look things up, LotLine sends only a location to these services, over encrypted connections. To check Pro, it sends only a random install key:
| Service | What is sent | Why |
|---|---|---|
| U.S. Census Geocoder | An address you type or a listing address when the page has no map point; and the home's map point | Find the map point and county; who represents the home (city limits, school and voting districts) |
| FEMA National Flood Hazard Layer | The map point | Flood zone |
| OpenStreetMap routing (OSRM) | The home's map point and your saved place's map point | Drive time |
| ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com) | A random install key LotLine creates when it's installed. No name, email, location or browsing data, unless you buy Pro or sign in (section 3a) | Check whether this install has Pro |
- No identifiers go with these lookups. LotLine sends no name, email, account, pay or history.
- THESE SERVICES HAVE THEIR OWN PRIVACY POLICIES. They see a normal web request from your browser (which includes your IP address). LotLine doesn't control them and isn't responsible for their practices.
- Data that ships with the extension: most data (projects, election results, market data, taxes, job pay) is built into the extension, so no lookup is needed.
3a. If you buy Pro
- Payments are handled by Stripe, through ExtensionPay (a service that manages extension subscriptions). They collect your email address and payment details to process the purchase, send receipts, and let you sign in to restore Pro on another device. Their own privacy policies apply.
- LotLine receives only your email address and your Pro status (plan, start date, whether it's active). We never see or store your card number.
- We use your email only for receipts, renewal reminders, sign-in and support. We don't use it for advertising or sell it.
4. Categories of personal information (state-law notice)
| Category | Collected by LotLine on a server? | Where it stays | Sold or shared? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Identifiers (name, email, account, device ID, IP address) | Only if you buy Pro: your email, held by ExtensionPay and Stripe (section 3a). Every install also gets a random key that ExtensionPay uses to check Pro; it isn't linked to you unless you buy or sign in | Free use: not collected. If you email an error report, we receive your email address (section 6) | No |
| Location (addresses and map points of homes you look at, saved places) | No | Your browser; sent only to the services in section 3 | No |
| Financial information you type (pay, debts) | No | Your browser only | No |
| Browsing or app activity | No | "See Pro" tap counts stay in your browser | No |
| Sensitive personal information | No | Not collected | No |
We do not sell personal information, "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, use it for targeted advertising, or use it for profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. We have not done so in the past 12 months.
5. What the LotLine extension does not do
- No selling or sharing of personal information, and no disclosure to third parties for their direct marketing (California "Shine the Light").
- No advertising, analytics trackers, cookies, fingerprinting or browsing history.
- No collection of data for any purpose other than LotLine's single purpose: showing public information about the home you're viewing. This follows the Chrome Web Store Limited Use policy: no transfer of user data except as needed for that purpose, no use for ads or credit decisions, and no human reading of it.
- No analytics in the extension today. If the extension ever adds usage statistics (for example, which tabs are opened most), it will be off until you turn it on, will never include addresses or anything you type, and this policy will change first and ask you to agree again.
5a. The LotLine website (lotlinemap.com)
This section covers only the website. The extension works as described above.
- Visit counts. The website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to see how many people visit and which pages they read. It does not use cookies, local storage or fingerprinting, and it does not follow you to other sites. It records the page you open, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, your country and how fast the page loaded. We see these only as totals, not as a record of any one person. Cloudflare's own privacy policy applies.
- Hosting. The website is hosted by Netlify and served through Cloudflare. Like any website, they receive normal request information (including your IP address) to deliver and protect the site, under their own privacy policies.
- Forms. If you join the founding list or ask about team plans, we receive what you type: your name, email, and, if you give them, your phone number, company, brokerage, number of agents and what you're interested in. Netlify stores the form for us. We use it only to reply to you, send launch and early-access news you asked for, and set up a team plan. We don't sell it or use it for advertising. Reply "unsubscribe" or email us any time to be removed, and we'll delete your entry.
- No ads, no selling. The website shows no ads and has no advertising or social-media trackers.
6. Error reports
- If you use "Report error," LotLine writes the report for you and opens it in your own email app, or copies it so you can paste it. Nothing is sent until you send it.
- It includes the listing and what you type. We use it only to fix the record, and we delete the email within 24 months of resolving it.
- Don't include personal information you don't want us to have.
7. Children and teens
LotLine is for adults (18+). It isn't directed to children under 13 (COPPA) or to teens, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
8. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
LotLine doesn't track you across websites or over time, so browser "Do Not Track" and Global Privacy Control signals don't change what it does. We treat either signal as a request to opt out of any sale, sharing or targeted advertising, none of which LotLine does.
9. Your privacy rights
- Depending on where you live, state law may give you the right to:
- know and access the personal information a business has about you;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- get a copy in a portable form;
- opt out of sale, sharing, targeted advertising and profiling;
- not be treated differently for using these rights;
- appeal a decision we make about your request.
- States with these laws include California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas, Utah and Virginia, and more are coming. Nevada residents may also opt out of sales.
- Because LotLine keeps your data on your device, you control it directly: Settings → "Clear saved homes and My Line," or remove the extension, which deletes all of its local data.
- For anything we hold (an error-report email, or a form you sent on the website), contact us below. We'll verify the request using the email address it came from and answer within 45 days. If we deny it, you can appeal by replying "appeal," and we'll answer within 60 days. If you're still not satisfied, you may contact your state attorney general.
- You may use an authorized agent where state law allows; we may ask for proof of authority.
10. Security
Your data stays in Chrome's storage on your device, so it is as safe as your device and browser. Lookups use encrypted connections (HTTPS). No method of storage or transfer is perfectly secure, and LotLine can't guarantee security of data on your device or in transit to the services above.
11. Where LotLine works
LotLine is offered in the United States, and its data covers U.S. homes only. If you use it from outside the U.S., your lookups still go only to the U.S. services in section 3.
12. Changes
If this policy changes in a material way, LotLine will show the new version and ask you to agree again before you keep using it. The version and effective date are at the top.
